Job Description
The Financial Controller will be responsible for, but not limited to:
* Manage financial reporting processes, including preparing accurate reports and forecasts.
* Oversee budgeting and cost management to ensure alignment with company goals.
* Ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards.
* Monitor cash flow and implement strategies to improve financial performance.
* Provide financial insights and recommendations to support decision-making.
* Lead and support the accounting team to achieve department objectives.
* Lead month end processes with the support of 3 direct reports.
* Collaborate with internal stakeholders to streamline financial operations.
* Assist in the preparation of audits and liaise with external auditors as required.
* Play a lead role in the roll out of systems and processes (project and transformation).
The Successful Applicant
The Financial controller will have or be:
* A degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
* Professional certification such as CPA or CA is highly regarded (or equivalent qualification).
* Strong understanding of financial principles, budgeting, and compliance.
* Proficiency in financial software and tools.
* Excellent analytical and problem‐solving skills.
* Ability to manage and mentor a team effectively.
* Experience in the retail, FMCG or manufacturing industry is an advantage.
* Excellent communication skills.
