About the Role
As an expert advisor, you will provide strategic guidance on the Mental Health Act 2016 and related legislation, leading critical legislative amendments and supporting system reform projects. Your expertise will be sought by senior officials, interagency committees, and stakeholders to inform policy implementation and project progress.
Your Key Responsibilities
* Deliver high-quality advice and reports on project risks, progress, and policy implementation to senior officials and stakeholders.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate effective communication and achieve successful outcomes.
* Prepare high-quality correspondence, Cabinet submissions, and reports representing the Office of the Chief Psychiatrist in meetings.
About You
We are looking for a highly skilled professional who demonstrates:
* Exceptional analytical skills, including the ability to interpret complex policy and legislation, develop innovative solutions, and provide high-quality advice.
* Expert knowledge of relevant legislation and policy (e.g. the Mental Health Act 2016, the Forensic Disability Act 2011, and the Guardianship and Administration Act 2000) and its complex inter-relationships.
* High-level project management skills, including planning, managing, and evaluating projects, using relevant systems, and effectively integrating activities to achieve project deliverables and outcomes.
