People Services is a dynamic and continually evolving Division that ensures the Department has the best capability to deliver on the needs of all Western Australian students. It is responsible for the provision of a range of human resource functions and workforce strategic planning.
About the Directorate
The Work Health, Safety and Wellbeing Directorate provides strategic and operational advice in a range of staff wellbeing, injury management and occupational safety matters. It operates in a complex industrial environment and is responsible for ensuring strategies and polices are developed that are aligned with the strategic objectives of the Department.
About You
As Director Work Health Safety and Wellbeing works across the Education system supporting a workforce of 44,000 FTE, mostly in schools. This role leads a team delivering and managing strategic work health and safety programs and initiatives across the public education system. As a key leader within the Division this role shapes strategy and direction to ensure a safe and happy workforce by changing thinking and behaviours across the System. This role ensures the right systems and protocols are in place to ensure the safety and psychosocial needs of all employees are met.
We're seeking a progressive and experienced leader with a strong background in occupational health safety and wellbeing, high level communication and interpersonal skills and experience managing system level change in a work health and safety context.
You will play a critical role in shaping the Departments work health and safety programs, initiatives, strategy and culture and report directly to the Executive Director People Services.
