About the Role
We have various clients in the resources sector seeking competent Maintenance Planners to enhance their maintenance work management capabilities. Our clients are tier one resource sector companies that value technical excellence and proven expertise in maintenance planning that delivers measurable improvements in equipment reliability and operational performance.
As a Maintenance Planner, you will be responsible for developing detailed maintenance work packages, coordinating resources, managing maintenance schedules, and ensuring all planned maintenance activities are executed efficiently and safely.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop comprehensive maintenance work plans including scope, resources, materials, and procedures
* Create and maintain detailed job plans for preventive and corrective maintenance activities
* Coordinate with maintenance schedulers, supervisors, and operations to optimize maintenance execution
* Identify and procure required materials, tools, and equipment for planned maintenance
* Review maintenance history and failure data to improve planning effectiveness
* Ensure compliance with safety standards, environmental regulations, and quality requirements
* Maintain accurate records in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
* Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance maintenance processes
Who We're Looking For
* Proven experience as a Maintenance Planner in heavy industry, mining, oil & gas, or manufacturing environments
* Strong understanding of maintenance work management principles and best practices
* Proficiency with CMMS systems (SAP PM, Maximo, or similar platforms)
* Trade qualification or engineering degree with relevant maintenance planning experience
* Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
* Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams
* Valid Australian work rights or eligibility to obtain them
* Candidates who can demonstrate immediate capability and work-ready expertise
