About The Role
An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced and passionate Cook to join the team at Uniting AgeWell Wantirna .
This is a part-time position, Monday to Friday, 12:00pm – 5:30pm (25 hours per week)
Reporting to the Senior Chef, this role is focused on delivering high-quality, nutritious meals and exceptional service to our residents, enhancing their health and daily living.
In this role, you will:
Prepare and serve a variety of nutritious, home-style meals that support healthy ageing and wellbeing
Plan, order, and prepare meals to enhance the dining experience, catering to individual dietary requirements, including supplements and texture-modified foods
Ensure compliance with all food safety guidelines, HACCP procedures, and aged care standards
Work collaboratively with the care team to create a positive, homely, and welcoming dining experience for residents

About you
You are passionate about what you do and want to make a difference in the lives of our residents, enhancing their self-esteem and empowering them to make choices

* Hold a Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent).
* Have experience in a commercial kitchen environment preferably Aged Care
* Have worked with specialised diets, including supplements and texture modified foods
* Friendly and respectful, show integrity and initiative, work at a fast pace
* Thrive in a team and also appreciate the one to one interactions
* Are committed to being part of a workplace culture based on the B E S T way of life (Believe, Excel, Support and Trust)
Essentials for working in Aged Care
* A current Working With Children Check card
* Current and ongoing flu vaccinations
* Ability to pass a national police clearance and NDIS Clearance
