About The Role
Provide and maintain a highly responsive and effective administrative support and customer service function to the 24 hour Emergency Department Reception. Contribute to patient flow by performing a support role to nursing and medical staff in the department.
The Ipswich Emergency Department is recognised as one of the busiest emergency departments in Queensland, seeing 67,000 presentations per year with 25% of the presentations being recognised as paediatric. The case mix within the department is ever changing. The population growth within the Ipswich region is predicted to increase by 113% in the next 10 years. The Ipswich Hospital emergency department provides opportunity for emergency registered nurses to care for patients ranging from neonatal to geriatrics. About You

* Knowledge or the ability to rapidly acquire knowledge of basic medical terminology to extract and interpret pertinent information from patient medical records and hospital information systems
* Proficiency in the application of internal hospital information systems in addition to Microsoft Word and Excel
Mandatory Requirements
* Vaccinated against, and remain vaccinated against, certain vaccine preventable diseases (VPD) as outlined in the Health Employment Directive NO. 01/16
