Curtin University is an innovative, global institution committed to shaping a better future through education and research. We are seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Market Research Analyst to join our Strategy and Marketing team.
Role summary
The Senior Market Research Analyst is responsible for coordinating a significant portfolio of primary and secondary market research activities across the University. This includes leading Curtin’s Online Panel and Market Research Services panel, managing both qualitative and quantitative research projects, and delivering actionable insights that inform strategic priorities.
Working closely with senior stakeholders, you will provide expert analysis and recommendations to support Curtin’s strategic planning, brand tracking, rankings, and market reviews. This role offers the opportunity to influence decision-making at the highest levels and to contribute to Curtin’s reputation as a leader in higher education.
Key responsibilities
- Manage and coordinate market research activities, including survey design, focus groups, in-depth interviews, and data analysis.
- Lead the operations of Curtin’s Online Panel and Market Research Services panel.
- Partner with faculties, schools, and external providers to scope and deliver impactful research projects.
- Provide explicit, evidence-based insights to inform strategic initiatives such as segmentation and brand health tracking.
- Contribute to data modelling, forecasting, and rankings analysis to support strategic planning.
- Mentor and support other analysts within the Strategy and Planning team.
Selection criteria
- A relevant degree with considerable experience, or an equivalent combination of education and professional expertise.
- Demonstrated experience in primary market research, including survey development, data interpretation, and qualitative methods.
- Strong analytical and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate insights to diverse audiences.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- The ability to work both independently and collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders.
Desirable
- Experience within the higher education sector or a market research agency.
- Knowledge of rankings methodologies and/or experience in coaching or supervisory roles.
Role requirements
- As this is a fixed-term contract, you will require current work rights in Australia that match the tenure of this role.
