- Competitive hourly rate: $39+ per hour plus overtime and penalty rates.

- Tool of trade vehicle provided for travel to, from and on the Orchard.

- Location – Our Tabbita Walnut Orchard is a 30-minute drive from Griffith, a peaceful agricultural town of 27,000 in the Riverina Region of southern NSW.

About the role

This role will require prioritising and overseeing workshop activities as well as supporting and training the Junior Maintenance Officer. You will be flexible to be on call, as required, to carry out maintenance involved throughout harvest and seasonal periods. Overtime and weekend work is available in this role.

Duties include but not limited to

- Repair of farming plant, and equipment.

- Maintain and repair plant and processing equipment.

- Metal fabrication, welding, and oxy acetylene work as required to facilitate the above maintenance tasks, in line with your experience.

- To be on call, as required, to carry out maintenance on plant involved in shift work e.g. harvest and foliar spraying.

- Ability to work extended hours as required through harvest/seasonal period.

- Supervision of staff as required i.e. Junior Maintenance Officer, contractors and any other staff as directed.

- Manage and adhere to the programmed maintenance schedule.

- Record and report all maintenance activities.

Essential Criteria, Skills and Experience

- Well-developed fitting and/or mechanical skills obtained in a workshop environment.

- Manual handling skills.

- Have a sound mechanical aptitude and knowledge.

- Demonstrate a high degree of flexibility with job tasks.

- The ability to participate in ongoing training and be open to new ideas.

- Focus on safety and quality.

- Ability to work in a team environment.

Desirable

- Certificate III in Engineering, Mechanical or Diesel Fitting.

- Previous experience in an agricultural environment.

What You Should Know About Our Operations

Our business is widespread, growing walnuts and almonds in the Riverina Region in New South Wales, pecans in Moree and macadamias, avocados, mangoes in Bundaberg, Queensland. In addition to fruit and nut growing, we also operate apiaries located in Temora, Nowra and Dubbo.

Off the paddock, we operate nut processing and packing facilities in Leeton, Toowoomba and Bundaberg as well as fruit packing and processing in Bundaberg. In addition, our shared services teams (Finance, Sales, ESG, Safety and People & Culture) are located across all of our sites as well as the Brisbane, Melbourne and Griffith offices.
