What you'll be doing
As Head of Department – General Practice, you will provide clinical leadership and strategic direction to ensure the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based general oral health care and education to eligible patients.
You will:
* Provide organisational and clinical leadership, embedding strong governance and patient safety frameworks
* Implement workforce plans and national standards to optimise departmental performance
* Drive clinical efficiency, resource stewardship and financial accountability
* Manage service performance including waitlists, referrals, complaints and productivity targets
* Mentor, develop and support clinicians while fostering collaboration across WSLHD facilities
* Represent the Department at Local Health District committees, contribute to business case development, and ensure alignment with strategic and operational priorities across the Oral Health Service.

Essential Requirements:
Registration: Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency as a Dentist.
Selection Criteria:
* Current Registration with AHPRA as a Dentist.
* Demonstrated exceptional competence in general dentistry including proven experience in the management of patients with chronic medical conditions and complex dental needs.
* Demonstrated ability to exercise advanced clinical reasoning skills.
* Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a large multidisciplinary team.
* Experience in the development, implementation and evaluation of policies and procedures in relation to a clinical service.
* Excellent oral and written communication skills and a demonstrated ability to liaise effectively with a range of individuals including the general public.
* Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to a preventive / population health approach to patient care.
* Demonstrated ability to mentor and support junior clinicians
