We are seeking an Environmental Planning and Policy Officer with expert knowledge in the fields of biodiversity assessment, management and planning including the ability to address and resolve complex environmental problems.

**We are seeking**:
- Minimum degree level qualifications in Environmental Science, Environmental Planning, Natural Resource Management or equivalent.
- Understanding and experience in environmental planning and policy development.
- Technical knowledge and experience in natural area management, restoration, ecological processes and plant and animal management.
- Ability to manage projects and the capacity to supervise staff, consultants and contractors.

**Essential**:
- Minimum degree level qualifications in Environmental Science, Environmental Planning, Natural Resource Management or equivalent.
- Demonstrated experience in biodiversity policy development including LEP and DCP preparation
- Well-developed knowledge of, and ability to identify, local flora and fauna including their habitats, threatened species and endangered ecological communities and threatening processes.
- Demonstrated ability to manage projects and their associated budgets.
- Demonstrated capacity to engage and supervise staff, consultants and contractors.
- Demonstrated practical experience in field surveys, environmental assessment and preparation of ecological restoration and management plans.
- Demonstrated high level written and oral communications skills.
