Join our team as a Director Platforms!

This new ongoing position leading the Enterprise Technology/ Platforms team at The Administrative Review Tribunal can be located in Adelaide, Brisbane, Canberra, Darwin, Hobart, Melbourne, Perth or Sydney.

About the opportunity

Reporting to the Deputy Chief Information Officer, the Director Platforms, leads the delivery and enhancement of critical ICT platforms that underpin secure and reliable Tribunal services.

Operating at a senior leadership level, you will set strategic direction for the Platforms section, and ensure enterprise platforms, (including IDAM, cloud services, system monitoring, networks and databases), are resilient, scalable and fit for purpose.

Working closely with other ETG Directors, you will ensure platforms are aligned with branch and Tribunal priorities while remaining secure and compliant with Australian government policies.

About the team

Lead a geographically dispersed team of approximately 20 staff within the Platforms section of the ETG branch. You can enjoy flexible working arrangements, including the opportunity to regularly work from home.

The key duties of the position include

* Leadership: Lead and manage, in cross‐functional, matrixed relationships, the teams responsible for ICT products and services, including provision of centre of excellence capability for key disciplines and services. Develop, coach and mentor staff, identify training needs to maintain a high level of skill and technical knowledge. Model the Tribunal's values and encourage a collaborative and constructive culture.
* Strategic advice and policy: Provide authoritative strategic advice in ICT strategy, operations, architecture, performance, and delivery to the CIO, CEO, Senior Executive, Directors and cross‐functional teams. Lead the development of key strategic and business plans. Develop, maintain and interpret policies, standards and processes that effect the provision of services, ensuring activities continue to deliver on business objectives.
* Innovation and change: Drive innovation to enhance products, service delivery and value/benefits realisation, including Agile, Lean and DevOps methodologies. Identify opportunities for improvement and standardisation of processes and practices. Lead and manage change effectively, promoting a culture of adaptability and continuous improvement.
* Product and financial management: Drive multiple work programs through to completion within scope, timeline, quality and budgetary constraints whilst delivering key business outcomes. Contribute to, define, and implement financial management practices to support iterative/agile working, development of service, project, and component cost models, and charging models for ICT services.
* Stakeholder management: Engage and manage relationships with program sponsors, business owners, product owners and stakeholders. Implement communication strategies and governance procedures, ensure responsiveness to customer needs, transparency of delivery and provide clear understanding of business priorities and strategic relevance of business initiatives.
* Autonomy: Guide and drive high level decisions and strategies within the organisation's guardrails, policies and objectives. Take accountability for actions and decisions for ETG workgroups, including technical, performance, financial and quality. Manage and delegate responsibility for operational objectives across teams to maximise benefits and minimise risks.
