A Sales consultant is primarily responsible for providing exceptional travel experiences across an array of travel industry suppliers. Your role is to work with the RACV respected membership group & customers with all of their holiday needs with respect to touring, cruise and ancillary products, with the goal of converting sales to meet set sales targets. You will be responsible for managing the customer experience from beginning to end, creating long lasting relationships that foster return travellers and a high level of member and customer satisfaction.
Further to that you will be responsible for upselling, changes, amendments, and cancellations customers may have for their holiday, including flights. Manage the booking journey from first enquiry to travel, this includes payment process for bookings between travellers and suppliers. You will additionally manage travel credits and supplier follow-ups for refunds and changes. You will work with the members and customers and our suppliers to get the best outcome for both parties. You will be required to talk to multiple stakeholders and manage many different streams of work. You will be a problem solver and help build this part of the business and make suggestions on better managing and serving the members & customers.
The role requires some out of office hours event attendance ad hoc. These are in the form of (but not limited to) supplier events, product nights, ship inspections, travel expo’s + educational opportunities provided by suppliers.
Your performance will be managed by Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) set by the Sales & Operations Manager & Agency Sales Manager, who will also provide ongoing coaching, training, and development.
**Qualifications/Experience**
- Certificate 3 (or higher) in Travel (preferred)
- Retail Travel Agency Experience of 2 years or more (preferred)
- Personal travel experience (preferred)
- Flight booking experience using a GDS, preferably Amadeus (preferred)
- Experience working with multiple systems
- Outstanding organizational skills and attention to detail
- Experience with telephone based sales working towards KPIs
- Passion for travel and desire to create amazing experiences (must have)
