About the role
A Federal Government Department within the Defence portfolio is seeking multiple
Senior Infrastructure Engineers
to support the implementation, management and retirement of infrastructure that underpins critical digital services.
The roles focus on a broad range of technologies, including
physical, virtual, networking and cloud infrastructure
, and contribute to the delivery of secure, resilient and high-performing ICT services that support national priorities.
Duties and responsibilities
* Accountable for managing allocated resources, setting work priorities and managing workflows to ensure accurate completion of work within required timeframes and quality standards.
* Accountable for infrastructure installation projects, providing effective team leadership and ensuring strong stakeholder engagement throughout project delivery.
* Lead the development and implementation of policies and strategies, and evaluate business outcomes to drive continuous improvement in ICT systems administration.
* Maintain and apply contemporary knowledge, experience and skills to meet capability needs, utilising relevant hardware and software products and understanding current functionality and the Department's business domain.
* Apply experience in change management, customer service and conflict resolution to ensure continuity of capability delivery, ICT operations and business functions.
* Work collaboratively with team members to develop and implement solutions, including non-routine or contingency requirements.
* Resolve a defined range of unpredictable issues by applying established operating policies and procedures.
* Evaluate projects to identify critical success factors and engage appropriate activities or technical specialists to support continuous improvement.

Essential criteria
* Demonstrated experience in the design, installation and de-installation of large and/or complex ICT systems.
* Demonstrated experience in analysing and reporting on service and component availability, reliability, maintainability and serviceability, including performance against agreed service levels and targets.
* Demonstrated experience in the creation and/or maintenance of issue resolution and disaster recovery plans, including the testing of those plans.
* Demonstrated experience in problem root cause analysis and the ability to initiate appropriate mitigation and resolution strategies.
