Austin Health is the major provider of tertiary health services, health professional education and research across three campuses in the north-east of Melbourne and statewide. We have a highly engaged, diverse and collaborative workforce that is unified by our goal to help people live healthy and fulfilled lives.

About the Physiotherapy Department

The Physiotherapy Department is committed to delivering the highest standard of patient care. We lead and excel in research, teaching, and person-centered, evidence-based practice. Services are delivered across all three Austin Health campuses, spanning emergency, inpatient, and ongoing ambulatory care settings.

About the Role

As a Grade 2 Rotating Orthopaedic Troupe Physiotherapist, you will collaborate with clinicians and the wider physiotherapy team to deliver safe, effective, patient-centred care. This role focuses on orthopaedic services across Austin Health, providing timely and high-quality care to patients in both inpatient and outpatient settings.

Rotations include surgery, fracture management, and musculoskeletal outpatients, with opportunities to work in the Emergency Department. This role aims to develop a well-rounded, experienced musculoskeletal physiotherapist.

You will also support student education during clinical placements and contribute to the supervision and development of junior and rotating physiotherapists in musculoskeletal/orthopaedic outpatient settings

What a Day in the role Looks Like:

* Deliver physiotherapy care to patients following orthopaedic surgery (elective/trauma).
* Support patients with common musculoskeletal presentations (e.g., osteoarthritis, low back pain) with evidence-based, non-surgical care in the outpatient setting.
* Provide care to orthopaedic and musculoskeletal patients, including those presenting acutely to the Emergency Department.
* Collaborate with senior and advanced musculoskeletal physiotherapists and the multidisciplinary team to deliver best-practice, patient-centered care.

You'll join a friendly, supportive, and passionate team that values the impact of their work.

About You

You are a compassionate and motivated clinician committed to delivering excellent patient care and improving outcomes related to physical activity and function. You communicate effectively and work respectfully with individuals from diverse backgrounds.

You will ideally demonstrate:

* Sound clinical experience in orthopaedic and/or musculoskeletal physiotherapy.
* A passion for growing your knowledge and skills in this area through direct patient care.
* The motivation and ability to supervise undergraduate/DPT students during musculoskeletal placements.
* A collaborative mindset, contributing positively to the clinical environment and team culture.
* Interest in advancing your skills through the Orthopaedic Troupe pathway and ongoing professional development.

Our benefits

Working at Austin Health means enjoying a strong sense of purpose, engaging in meaningful work every day. Our people also receive a variety of rewarding benefits, including:

* Greater take-home pay through generous salary packaging, for living expenses, meals, and holiday accommodation.
* A suite of wellness initiatives designed to support you, including discounted fitness memberships and special offers on health insurance, and a comprehensive wellbeing program.
* Onsite childcare at Austin Hospital, easy access via public transport and car parking options.
* Mentoring and career development opportunities.
