About the Role
We are seeking a suitably qualified and experienced Art, Design and Photography Teacher to join our Art, Design and Digital Technologies faculty for Semester 1, 2026 to cover an employee on leave. You will be working in the Styles Centre for Innovation and Inquiry, contemporary Art Centre and Hargraves Film and Photography Studio. You will be an enthusiastic, resilient and optimistic educator who builds positive relationships with students, parents and colleagues and collaborates with colleagues to ensure the best possible outcomes for students. Teaching qualifications essential and you will be a professional who maintains the highest standards of preparation for teaching and learning, student management, personal presentation and punctuality.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Plan for and implement effective teaching and learning
- Create and maintain supportive and safe learning environments
- Assess, provide feedback and report on student learning
- Engage in professional learning
- Engage professionally with colleagues, parents/carers and the community
- Contribute to Pastoral Care and Co-curricular programs of the School.
Key Selection Criteria (Qualifications, Skills and Experience)
- Relevant tertiary qualifications
- Current (or ability to attain) SA Teacher Registration
- Exemplary classroom practitioner with a proven record of student outcomes
- High level of ICT skills, knowledge and effective incorporation into classroom practice
- Working at least at proficient level, as described by the teacher professional standards, striving towards working at the HALT descriptors
- Regular and up-to-date professional knowledge and learning
- Involvement at relevant professional organisations
- Specialised teaching experience in a range of Creative and Visual Arts subjects, including Art, Design and Photography
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud software, such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and After Effects
- Knowledge of 2D and 3D manual arts media
- Experience with DSLR and studio photography; Autodesk Fusion 360; laser cutting and 3D printing technologies desirable.
