About the role:
As a Horticulture Team Member you will work as part of a teamparticipating in the establishment and maintenance of theCity’s many parks, gardens and reserves, including theCity’s stunning foreshore areas. This is a full time roleworking a nine-day fortnight with a rostered day off.
You will be responsible for routine landscapemaintenance which will include:
* Weed control (manual and herbicidal)
* Planting
* Mulching
To succeed you will need the followingcompetencies:
* Previous experience in a horticulture role where you haveundertaken a wide range of parks and gardens maintenance anddevelopment activities.
* A demonstrated understanding of horticultural maintenancepractices and techniques, including the ability to correctlyuse a range of small plant and equipment.
* A commitment to producing work of the highest quality.
* The proven ability to work well in a team, and excellentcustomer service skills.
* A desire to learn and develop your skills.
* A valid White Card.
You will also need to be able to provide a National PoliceClearance no more than 6 months old (or have the ability to applyfor one) and provide proof of right to work in Australia.
Applicants who have a MR class driver’s licence will behighly regarded, and a chainsaw certificate of competency plus arecognised qualification in chemical handling/application would beadvantageous, although training can be provided. A formalqualification in horticulture is not essential but would bepreferred.
