About the Role
Double Bay Disability Care Pty Ltd is currently seeking compassionate and dedicated Disability Support Workers to join our team on a casual basis in Horsham/Ararat/Stawell and Ballarat. As a valued team member, you will play a crucial role in empowering individuals with disabilities to achieve their personal goals, maintain independence, and live safely and comfortably within their communities.
Key Responsibilities:
Personal Care: Deliver high-quality support in daily activities such as hygiene, dressing, grooming, eating, and mobility.
Community Access: Assist clients in engaging with the community through social outings, recreational activities, and appointments.
Daily Living Assistance: Support with household tasks including meal preparation, light cleaning, and maintaining a safe environment.
Health and Wellbeing: Assist with medication management, health monitoring, and liaising with healthcare professionals when necessary.
Emotional Support: Foster companionship, promote social inclusion, and encourage mental wellbeing.
Goal-Oriented Support: Help clients work toward personal goals related to life skills, education, employment, and hobbies.
Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records in accordance with organisational policies and industry regulations.
Team Collaboration: Work effectively with other staff, management, and allied health professionals to provide integrated support.
Safety and Compliance: Ensure a safe working environment and adhere to all relevant policies, procedures, and legal requirements.
Key Selection Criteria:
Experience: Previous experience in disability or aged care is desirable but not essential—training will be provided.
Qualifications: Certificate III or IV in Disability, Aged Care, or Individual Support is advantageous.
Personal Attributes: Empathetic, patient, respectful, and committed to client-centred care.
Communication: Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
Flexibility: Willingness to work varied shifts including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
Reliability: Punctual, trustworthy, and detail oriented.
Clearances: Current NDIS Worker Screening, Current First Aid & CPR certification, Working with Children Check, and National Police Check (or willingness to obtain). Driver's License: A valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle is preferred.
