**Logistics Officer - Antarctic Operations**
**Location**:
Warehouse at the Australian Antarctic Division: Kingston TAS 7050
Cargo and Biosecurity Centre: Hobart TAS 7000
This role, under the guidance of Senior Logistics Officers, involves critical support in maintaining operations within remote and challenging environments. As an essential point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, you'll handle biosecurity measures, manage supply chain systems, and facilitate cargo movements for intermodal transport.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Implement robust biosecurity control measures.
- Manage inbound and outbound cargo movements, ensuring accurate processing, packing, and documentation for various transport modes.
- Safely handle Dangerous Goods shipments following IATA and IMDG standards for road, sea, or air transport.
- Demonstrate continuous safety awareness, compliance with Health and Safety legislation, and uphold relevant standards.
**Requirements**:
- Hold and maintain a valid Australian motor vehicle driver's license and forklift license.
- Willingness to occasionally work out-of-hours and weekends.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Maritime Security Identification Card (MSIC) and Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC).
- Experience in logistics, inventory management, or cargo handling roles.
- Familiarity with cargo or resource tracking/management systems.
- Awareness of dangerous goods transport compliance with relevant standards.
- Flexibility, adaptability, and resilience in responding to changing priorities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel) and strong communication skills.
**Desirable Skills**:
- High Risk Work (HRW) License for Forklift Truck Operation.
- IATA and/or IMDG accreditation or equivalent.
- Experience in Australian customs and biosecurity administration for import/export processes.
