About the Role:
We are looking for an experienced Maintenance Officer to assist in maintaining the building and grounds of this brand new, state of the art building to a high standard, having regard for the comfort and wellbeing of residents and advising on replacement or repairs as required.
Skills and Requirements for this Role:
* Experience in building maintenance and gardening, landscaping
* Knowledge of Aged Care industry is desirable
* Thorough understanding of all legislative requirements pertaining to maintenance and repairs i.e. OH&S & Fire/Evacuation
* Ability to perform a wide variety of tasks including use of tools and equipment
* Willingness to be contribute to after-hours maintenance requirements from time to time
* Excellent communication skills and respect for residents and colleagues
* Previous experience working autonomously with limited direction
* Be able to make decisions about costs and priorities and documenting a full plan for work to be completed
* Supervise and monitor grounds and systems
* Contribute to the support of aged care residents by providing quality service as required, and with respect to dignity and privacy.
Essential:
* Victorian drivers license
* Reliable, strong work ethic
* Valid police check, less than 12 months old
Preferred:
* Trade Qualification e.g. Landscaping or OHS Qualification is advantageous
