**Role Summary**

We are seeking a dedicated Community Recovery & Resilience professional to join our team.

* The successful candidate will have exceptional skills in stakeholder engagement, advocacy and strategic thinking to deliver medium to longer term recovery initiatives that address specific community needs through a community led approach;
* They will establish cooperative networks across government, non-government and community groups to assist community recovery and develop local resilience that will endure beyond the term of the position;
* Furthermore, they will ensure a coordinated and collaborative approach to disaster recovery between government departments and agencies, business/tourism representatives, preparedness, response, relief and recovery operations at a grass roots level where required.

**Key Responsibilities**

1. Consult with stakeholders including affected communities, businesses, service organisations, industry and other local and regional agencies to focus recovery efforts in areas affected by natural disasters;
2. Advocate and work with community and established community recovery committees to provide strategic thinking and future planning to deliver medium to longer term recovery initiatives that address specific and identified community needs through a community led approach;
3. Establish cooperative networks across government, non-government and community groups that can assist community recovery and develop local resilience that will endure beyond the term of the position;
4. Ensure a coordinated and collaborative approach to disaster recovery between government departments and agencies, business/tourism representatives, preparedness, response, relief and recovery operations at a grass roots level where required.
