**About the Opportunity**
Liverpool Hospital is currently seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Surgical Bookings Officer to join and enhance our dedicated team.
**What You'll be Doing**
The Waitlist Management Surgical Booking Officer is to provide ongoing development of booked elective and waiting time management practices which reflect the Health Service's current position and future direction. This position is also responsible for providing accurate information on waiting times and lists to clinicians, administrators and patients in order to enhance the management of booked elective patients. It is the role of the department to provide time appropriate booking and allocation of all theatre lists in accordance with district and state required policies and Clinical Indicators.
**Where You'll Be Working**
Liverpool Hospital, founded in 1813, is the major health service for south-western Sydney, providing services to the local government area of Liverpool City Council as well as district services to residents and visitors in the area. It also provides a range of state-wide services in areas such as critical care and trauma, neonatal intensive care and brain injury rehabilitation.
The Hospital provides a health service of international standing, with 23 operating theatres, capacity for 877 beds, diagnostic and imaging services, emergency and trauma care, maternity, paediatric, cancer care, mental health, ambulatory care, allied health and medical and surgical services from birth to aged care.
Liverpool Hospital is currently undergoing a major redevelopment. The $790 million Liverpool Health and Academic Precinct (LHAP) project will provide enhanced facilities and an increased capacity to meet future significant population growth for South Western Sydney.
Liverpool Hospital is a principal referral and teaching Hospital of the UNSW Sydney and the Western Sydney University and also welcome students from over 20 universities and colleges.
Located in the heart of Liverpool City, the hospital is close to public transport, shopping centres and eateries.
**How to Apply**
- Previous experience in hospital front line service and / or health care system, with demonstrated commitment to quality and patient focused service.
- Well-developed interpersonal skills including ability to communicate effectively with Medical officers, managers and staff both verbally and written.
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and in a multidisciplinary team environment with mínimal supervision.
- Demonstrated ability in problem solving, decision making and negotiation skills in a high pressured busy and demanding environment.
- Proficient understanding and demonstrated use of Medical Terminology.
- Demonstrated computer literacy including proficient keyboard and data entry skills with accuracy and attention to details. Show an ability to maintain electronic and hard copy documents/databases.
- Knowledge of NSW Ministry of Health Policy and Procedures relating to Waitlist Management and proficient use of computerised Patient Administration Systems.
