About the Role
As a Fibre Technician at NX Solutions, you will play a key role in the installation, termination, testing, and maintenance of fibre-optic networks. You'll work both independently and as part of a high-performing field team to deliver projects to the highest standard.

Key Responsibilities
Install, splice, terminate, and test fibre-optic cables in various environments (underground, aerial, internal pathways).
Conduct OTDR, power meter, light source, and other fibre-testing procedures.
Perform fault finding, repairs, and maintenance on existing fibre networks.
Interpret network designs, plans, and specifications.
Ensure high standards of workmanship, documentation, and reporting.
Follow all WHS requirements, risk assessments, and safe work procedures.
Liaise professionally with clients, contractors, and project managers.
Maintain tools, equipment, and vehicles in good operational condition.
Skills & Experience
Essential
Demonstrated experience in fibre-optic installation, splicing, and testing.
Strong understanding of telecommunications infrastructure and network technologies.
Experience using OTDRs and related test equipment.
Ability to read and interpret telecommunications plans and drawings.
Full driver's licence.
Commitment to safety and quality workmanship.
Desirable
ACMA Open Cabler Registration with Structured, Coaxial, and Fibre endorsements.
NBN/Carrier-specific accreditations (e.g., NBN TA/TC/CPR, Pit & Pipe).
EWP, First Aid/CPR, or confined space certifications.
Experience working on major carrier networks or commercial fibre projects.
