Teaching Opportunity in Advanced Engineering
We are seeking an experienced engineer to join our team as a lecturer in advanced engineering.
Job Description:
The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching a range of core units and specialist engineering units from level 3 to level 5, including mechanical and/or electrical principles, engineering mathematics and engineering science.
They will share their industry knowledge with students and provide educational guidance, support and counselling. The lecturer will work within our state-of-the-art engineering facility, where students can learn in both classroom and workshop environments.
Key Responsibilities:
* Perform scheduled teaching and prepare learning materials
* Mark students' work, liaise with awarding bodies and conduct exam invigilation as required
* Provide educational guidance, support and counselling for all students
* Liaise with tutors from other business areas regarding resources, curriculum development, student reports and other related matters
Requirements:
The ideal candidate will hold a qualification at least Level 5 in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, and have knowledge and skills to teach the above-mentioned subjects. A teaching qualification is also essential, although not necessarily held at the time of application, as training will be provided.
Candidates must be able to identify, interpret and apply specific knowledge to practice. They should demonstrate an understanding of current developments within own specialist area and ways of keeping up to date with such developments. Additionally, they must recognise and make students aware of their strengths and development needs.
