The Opportunity
This is a perfect opportunity to obtain a vast amount of design and on‑site experience and apply engineering solutions to a wide variety of structural integrity problems.
Liaising between the Client and Senior Site Engineers, you’ll oversee and provide engineering support to structural maintenance crews and engineering departments. This will include expert advice on site inspection and repair procedures & processes to the Engineering Department, Managers & site engineers.
About You
As this is both a site and design office-based role, you must be fit, energetic and keen to be actively involved in site-based inspections as well as office-based engineering. Typical structures may include ship-loaders, stackers/reclaimers, large conveyors, transfer towers, surge bins & bridges.
Key Prerequisites
* Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (RPEQ or CPEng required)
* Structural steel & concrete design and inspection experience
* Ability to assess & make engineering judgement decisions
* Provide expert advice to site engineering & maintenance teams
* Inspection of heavy structures & large materials handling machines
* Solid knowledge of steel, concrete, wind & materials handling codes
* Well-developed report writing, verbal and interpersonal skills
* Strong work ethic, commitment to safety, and a drivers licence
