Join icon fashion house Aje as a Production Manager for our Aje Athletica & Aje Studio brands at our Aje Head Office in Redfern. If you are based in Melbourne, this role requires travel to Aje's Head Office in Sydney.
About this opportunity:
Production
* Work closely with relevant team members to ensure seasonal timelines are maintained according to the company-wide Critical Path, managing multiple seasons simultaneously.
* Responsible for the entire production schedule of seasonal, monthly, and additional orders, ensuring on-time delivery aligned with Aje and wholesale account launch dates.
* Manage production across all purchase orders, communicating potential issues to stakeholders promptly.
* Collaborate with design, buying, and merchandising teams to ensure quality products are delivered within the expected price architecture.
* Negotiate with local and offshore manufacturers to improve production costs and margins.
Garment Tech
* Oversee relationships between GTs and Product Teams to ensure technical specs are clear and measurement requests are consistent.
* Manage pre-production, shipment samples, and resolve issues impacting delivery.
* Attend production fit sessions to monitor progress.
* Ensure timely processing of pre-production and shipment sample comments.
* Manage quality issues and faulty garments to minimize delays.
Product Development
* Oversee product development across categories, ensuring alignment with brand standards for design, quality, fit, sustainability, pricing, and margins.
* Ensure all development deadlines are met according to the critical path, prioritizing workflow under the Design Room Manager.
* Source and develop fabrics and trims meeting design, quality, sustainability, price, and margin targets.
* Manage the creation and flow of tech packs, cover sheets, and BOMs, maintaining accuracy until production sign-off.
You will bring:
* Extensive production management experience – minimum 7–10 years, preferably in fashion or apparel industries.
* Proven leadership and team development skills.
* Experience managing end-to-end supply chain processes, including negotiations and logistics.
* Deep understanding of garment construction, manufacturing processes, and textiles.
* Strategic thinking to align production strategies with business goals for efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Experience managing production budgets and optimizing costs while maintaining quality.
