Position Title: Lactation Consultant / Domiciliary Midwife Classification: Clinical Midwife Consultant A (RN34) Salary per hour: $59.79 superannuation generous salary packaging options Employment Type: Ongoing part-time 32 hours per fortnight Award: Nurses and Midwives (Victorian Public Health Sector) (Single Interest Employers) Enterprise Agreement 2024 -2028 Role description We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Domiciliary Midwife with Lactation Consultant qualifications to join our maternity service on a part‑time basis. This is a unique opportunity to blend clinical midwifery expertise with specialist lactation knowledge, supporting women and families in the early postnatal period through home visits and outpatient care. In this role, you will provide clinical leadership, evidence‑based care, and personalised support for families residing in the Mount Alexander Shire and surrounds who are not part of the Midwifery Group Practice. You will work independently to manage your caseload, coordinate appointments, and ensure seamless handover to Maternal and Child Health services. You will work with other clinicians in a range of roles including domiciliary care, breastfeeding support, and tongue tie assessments. About you You will be a compassionate and skilled midwife with advanced lactation knowledge and a passion for supporting families in the early postnatal period. * Registered Midwife with current AHPRA registration. * International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) qualification, or equivalent. * Demonstrated experience in postnatal, domiciliary, or community midwifery. * Strong clinical assessment, problem‑solving, and communication skills. * Ability to work autonomously while contributing to a multidisciplinary team.
