Specialised DFSV – Relationships Australia

- Salary – SCHADS Level 5 – approx. $84,000–$88,000+ super – Part time or Full time

- 5 weeks annual leave & Wellbeing Day + Christmas/Current Year break

The Opportunity:

We’re seeking a compassionate and experienced counsellor to deliver our Healing Inside program; an evidence-informed, trauma-responsive initiative supporting incarcerated women affected by Domestic, Family and Sexual Violence (DFSV). This role offers a unique opportunity to work within a prison setting, providing therapeutic support, group education, and safety planning.

Key Responsibilities:

- Deliver trauma-informed counselling and group sessions

- Conduct risk assessments and develop safety plans

- Maintain accurate and confidential client records

- Collaborate with correctional staff and community stakeholders

- Promote cultural safety, especially for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women

- Contribute to program evaluation and continuous improvement

What You’ll Bring:

Essential:

- Tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology, Counselling or related field

- Experience supporting women affected by DFSV

- Robust understanding of trauma-informed and culturally safe practice

- Ability to work respectfully within justice and correctional settings

- Excellent communication and documentation skills

Desirable:

- Experience delivering group programs in custodial environments

- Knowledge of post-release referral pathways

- Experience in program evaluation or data collection

- Requirements:

- NT Working with Children Check (Ochre Card)

- National Criminal History Check

- NT Driver’s License

- Commitment to Safeguarding Children policies
