About the Role
An opportunity exists for an experienced Fibre Optic Technician to join a growing team delivering works across NBN, Telstra and other carrier networks. This role will involve a mix of installation external and internal, splicing, testing, and maintenance on critical telecommunications projects.
Key Responsibilities
* Fibre optic cable hauling, splicing, termination, and testing.
* Using OTDR, power meter, and light source equipment to produce test results.
* Completing cutovers, rectification, and maintenance works.
* Reading and interpreting network plans, job packs, and as-builts.
* Working safely in pits, manholes, and exchange environments.
* Maintaining compliance with NBN, Telstra, and industry standards.
Skills & Experience
* Demonstrated experience on NBN and/or Telstra fibre networks preferred but not essential.
* Current Australian Cabling Licence (Open Registration).
* White Card and current Driver's Licence.
* Proficiency in fibre splicing, OTDR testing, and fault finding.
* Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently or in a team.
Desirable
* Telstra/NBN accreditations (or ability to obtain).
* Experience, qualifications or accreditation on other carrier networks.
* Confined space, traffic management, or rail industry tickets.
* Experience performing critical network cutovers.
