We are seeking an experienced Health and Safety Manager to provide leadership and oversight of safety governance, risk management and compliance across the organisation.
About the Role
The Health and Safety Manager will lead the development and oversight of safety systems, policies and risk management frameworks across AUS operations.
Working closely with operational leaders, the role focuses on strengthening safety systems, improving risk controls and supporting leadership teams to maintain safe and compliant operations across logistics, labour hire and regional activities.
This role also supports incident investigation processes, injury management and return to work programs to ensure employees receive appropriate support following workplace incidents.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and maintain company wide health and safety policies, procedures and governance frameworks
* Provide WHS guidance and advisory support to operational leaders across logistics, labour hire and traffic management operations
* Assist with the investigation of workplace incidents and ensure corrective actions are implemented
* Support injury management processes including facilitating return to work programs for injured employees
* Monitor organisational safety performance and identify trends and improvement opportunities
* Ensure compliance with Australian WHS legislation and relevant regulatory requirements
* Support operational leaders to embed safety accountability within their teams
* Assist with regulatory reporting, client safety requirements and operational risk assessments
* Contribute to the development and implementation of safety systems, reporting tools and risk management processes
Skills & Experience
* Extensive WHS leadership experience within logistics or transport operations is essential for this role
* Demonstrated WHS leadership experience within logistics, transport or warehousing environments
* Experience managing safety risks across multi site operations
* Strong knowledge of Australian WHS legislation and compliance frameworks
* Experience implementing and improving WHS management systems
* Experience managing operational risks including transport, warehousing, plant and manual handling activities
* Experience supporting labour hire or contractor workforces within host client environments
* Strong incident investigation capability with a focus on identifying root causes and implementing improvements
* Ability to influence operational leaders and frontline teams to drive safety outcomes
* Relevant tertiary qualification in Work Health & Safety or a related discipline
* Understanding of Chain of Responsibility (CoR) obligations within transport and logistics
* Experience supporting workers compensation and return to work programs
* Experience managing safety risks for workers placed at host client sites
* Experience implementing digital safety systems or reporting platforms
* ICAM or equivalent investigation training
