The Opportunity
The School of Social Sciences is seeking a Lecturer in Politics and International Relations to join its academic team. This balanced teaching and research role involves the following responsibilities:
Responsibilities
* Prepare and deliver lectures, seminars, tutorials, and workshops; coordinate subject responsibilities and develop engaging subject materials.
* Pursue a high quality academic research program, including peer‐reviewed publications and external grant acquisition.
* Support the ongoing enhancement of course content in collaboration with senior academic staff.
* Supervise honours and postgraduate coursework and research students, conduct marking and assessment, and provide regular consultation and academic support.
* Contribute to research and professional activity within the discipline, engage in curriculum development, and participate in the administrative and collegial life of the School.
Qualifications
* Doctoral qualification in Political Science, International Relations, Public Administration, or a relevant related discipline.
* Strong record of achievement in research, with a demonstrated track record of refereed publications.
* Expertise encouraged in comparative politics, political institutions, gender and politics, and environmental politics.
* Well‐developed interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively independently and collaboratively across academic and service environments.
* Strong tertiary teaching experience with the ability to motivate, engage, and educate diverse student cohorts.
* Experience in curriculum and subject development, and willingness and ability to teach large introductory classes in political science.
* Commitment to ongoing scholarly activity and research excellence.
* Proven ability to work cooperatively with students, colleagues, and external partners, and a collegiate approach to teamwork.
