Your new role
You'll join the ICT Operations Branch, the group that ensures the department and Ministers' Offices have stable, secure, and reliable technology every single day.
Within this branch sits the ICT Networks & Infrastructure Platforms section, home to the Infrastructure Platforms team. This team manages the department's data centres, virtualisation platforms, automation frameworks, storage, backup and restore systems, and provides after‑hours on‑call support for on‑premises infrastructure.
They're now looking for an Infrastructure Engineer specialising in Automation and Virtualisation to help deliver key outcomes over the engagement period.
What you'll need to succeed
In this role, you'll step in as a Senior Automation and Virtualisation Specialist, taking ownership of some of the department's most critical platforms.
Your work will include
* Managing and developing Aria Automation, NSX, Aria Operations, and Site Recovery Manager
* Maintaining and enhancing VMware vSphere and Cloud Foundation environments
* Supporting physical server infrastructure (rack‑mounted and blade servers)
* Producing high‑quality design, build, and operational documentation
* Sharing knowledge, mentoring junior staff, and presenting technical concepts to stakeholders
