Your Role
The Business Support Officer role sits within the Aboriginal Housing Office (AHO) and plays a key part in supporting the region by providing effective administrative and office services to enable the smooth operation of the business unit and delivery of services to AHO clients. You will contribute to efficient functioning of the team by managing business information, coordinating administrative processes, and supporting day‐to‐day operational needs.
Responsibilities
* Provide a range of administrative activities and office services that support efficient operation of the team and service delivery to clients.
* Manage and process business information in line with standards and guidelines, ensuring accuracy, appropriate storage, and accessibility.
* Use relevant technology to prepare documents, reports, and presentation materials for managers and directors.
* Implement and maintain administrative systems and processes, and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and service delivery.
* Manage filing systems, including the creation, storage, retrieval, and tracking of records, ensuring the security and accuracy of information.
* Build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders to coordinate meetings and manage information flow.
* Provide administrative support to team members as required to ensure smooth and effective operations.
* Undertake customer service and reception duties as required, acting as a first point of contact and ensuring enquiries are resolved or escalated appropriately.
Qualifications
* Highly organised with strong time‐management skills and ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
* Experience providing administrative and office support in a fast‐paced environment, ideally supporting a regional team.
* Strong attention to detail with ability to maintain accurate records and manage information in line with standards and guidelines.
* Effective communicator with ability to build positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
* Experience or understanding of business support functions such as travel and accommodation coordination, fleet management, and finance or invoice systems.
* Demonstrated understanding of, and commitment to, working respectfully with Aboriginal communities, with cultural capability to engage in culturally safe ways and support positive outcomes for Aboriginal clients.
* Willingness to travel across the region as required.
