About the Role
We are currently seeking an experienced and reliable person to join the Accounts department for our client based in Darwin.
Our client is a well-established local business that primarily services remote accommodation camp requirements within the Oil and Gas industry. They are looking for someone to join their friendly and welcoming office team.
Ideally, you will have local knowledge and a strong background in Bookkeeping, with the desire to become an important member of the team.
Bookkeeping certification is not essential, however proven experience, accuracy, good time management, forward thinking and strong attention to detail are required.
Proficiency in MYOB (or Xero) is essential, and knowledge of SimPRO will be highly regarded.
Primary responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
• Process accounts payable and efficiently maintain established processes
• Coordinate with team members to ensure the timely generation and processing of purchase orders
• Communicate with suppliers as required
• Process credit card transactions
• Generate accounts receivable
• Manage daily timesheets and weekly payroll
• Process daily bank transactions
• Complete monthly reconciliations of all required accounts
• Prepare and reconcile superannuation and payroll tax returns
• Assist with statutory reporting (e.g., BAS, IAS)
• Assist with monthly journals, financial reports and other reports as required
• Preparation of documentation and confirming balances to assist with EOM and EOFY processes
• Partake in meetings and training as required, and carry out other tasks as requested
