Principal Project Manager

At the NSW Department of Education, we educate and inspire lifelong learners - from early childhood, through schooling to vocational education and training.

* Temporary Full-Time up to 31 December 2027
* Located in Eveleigh with flexible working arrangements available
* Competitive salary of $149,739 - $173,174 pa plus superannuation and leave loading

About the role

We are seeking a hands-on project management specialist to implement a once-in-a-generation change in business operations. This role will deliver significant and rapid work to implement new processes into existing teams across the division and department.

The role will cover process mapping, template design and implementation into BAU. This is a rare Clerk Grade 11/12 position with no direct reports - leaving plenty of time to focus on getting things done.

Experience working in social infrastructure will be highly regarded. This role is ideal for people who like to tick tasks off their to-do lists.

About you -

* Experience in social infrastructure delivery, ideally within a government department, minister's office or similar.
* Demonstrated ability to lead and oversee all aspects of project development and implementation across a portfolio of complex work streams.
* Effective communicator with experience in issues management to ensure stakeholders are engaged throughout the project.
* Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department's Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Department's Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.

Essential requirements of the role

* Relevant tertiary qualifications in project management, business, education or a related field and/or demonstrated equivalent professional experience.
* Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the value of public education.

This option would allow the WWCC to naturally expire without further communication needed with the employee. The employer obligations under the WWCC would apply for duration of the WWCC's validity (up to 5 years).
