**About the Role**
You will report to the Education and Vocational Training Unit Manager and will be responsible for training as required in the area of initial/introductory literacy and numeracy, responsible for resource development, delivery, assessment and participation in quality assurance processes. An established effective repertoire of teaching activities suited to students with multiple barriers to learning is essential. You will also be responsible for coordinating external studies in areas including Business, Project Management, Work Health and Safety and Leadership and Management, with the assessment materials provided. You will be expected to fit in with the teaching and assessment schedule already developed and continue the uninterrupted delivery of education to prisoners. Your ability to work closely with other education facilitators is also essential.
About You
You are an experienced facilitator with a passion for facilitating training to learners with multiple barriers to learning. You have exceptional verbal and written communication skills and have an ability to motivate those around you. Working in a team workplace is second nature to you, however you are self-motivated and have the ability to drive your own workload and prioritise your tasks. Attention to detail is one of your priorities and you ensure everything you complete is accurate. You are a respectful and professional person who demonstrates exceptional moral values in everything you do.
- To be successful in this role, you will have:_
- Certificate IV Training and Assessment (TAE40116) or sufficient to meet Schedule 1 in the Standards for Registered Training Organisations.
- Teaching qualification
- Experience in teaching Literacy and Numeracy to students (ideally adults)
- Experience in assessment tool writing and delivery
- Eye for detail and the ability to effectively balance teaching and non-teaching priorities within a compliance focused environment
- Demonstrated ability to relate positively to at risk groups and people with diverse cultural backgrounds
- Passion for delivering content with a rehabilitative focus
