Personal Care Assistant Grade 1 – Oncology & Haematology Ward – Permanent part‐time – Cabrini Malvern
In this important support role, you will work closely with registered nurses and the broader multidisciplinary team to provide safe, high‐quality care to patients. You will play a key role in supporting patients through their care journey, helping to create a comfortable, respectful, and supportive environment for both patients and their families.
Flexibility is required to work across a 7‐day roster, including weekends and public holidays.
What the role involves
* Assist in the delivery of patient care under the direction and supervision of registered nurses
* Observe and report changes in patient condition to nursing staff
* Respond to patient and family queries, escalating to the registered nurse as appropriate
* Maintain a clean, safe, and supportive patient environment, including bed making and equipment checks
* Uphold patient privacy, dignity, and respect at all times
What we're looking for
We are looking for a caring, reliable, and team‐focused individual who is passionate about supporting patients and contributing to a positive care environment.
* Certificate III in Health Services Assistance (or equivalent qualification as per position description)
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with patients and families
* Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
* A commitment to professionalism, confidentiality, and high standards of care
* Previous experience in an acute hospital setting (preferable)
