Key Responsibilities
- Cleaning:
- • Perform daily cleaning tasks in residents’ rooms, common areas, hallway.
- • Wipe walls within normal reach, clean and dust furniture, and equipment.
- • Regularly clean high-touch surfaces to maintain a hygienic environment.
- • Clean and maintain bathroom facilities, including sinks, toilets, and showers.
- • Attend to stock replacement for example replace toilet paper and hand towels.
- • Empty rubbish bins and replace liners, take out wheelie bins to roadside.
- • Collapse cardboard boxes and place in trailer ready for disposal.
- • Annual spring clean of Resident Rooms
- • 3 monthly Deep Clean of Kitchen and 3 monthly clean of fans
- • High cleans of rooms on request of the Age Care Manager
- • Restock cleaning trolley and maintain cleaning stock, request additional stock when needed.
- • Ensure all cleaning is provided in accordance with the Age Care Standards
- Safety and Infection Control:
- • Adhere to all infection control protocols and guidelines to prevent the spread of illnesses.
- • Use appropriate cleaning agents and equipment to ensure effective cleaning while minimizing any risk to residents and staff.
- Documentation:
- • Maintain accurate records of cleaning activities, inventory and any incidents as directed by the Age Care manager. Report any maintenance or issues of concern.
- Resident Support:
- • Interact with residents in a respectful, friendly, and culturally sensitive manner.
- • Report client feedback, both positive and negative. Report all complaints to the Age Care Manager.
The Successful applicant should possess the following:
- Qualifications/Certifications/Licences:
- • National Police Check (no more than 2 months old)
- • Covid 19 Vaccinated
- Other:
- • Prior experience in cleaning or housekeeping roles preferred.
- • Ability to work independently and follow cleaning protocols.
- • Physical capability to perform cleaning tasks, including bending, lifting, and standing for extended periods
- • Sensitivity to the needs and preferences of the elderly and a compassionate attitude.
- • Excellent time management and organisational skills
- • Ability to take initiative and make sound decisions.
- • Adherence to Kalano’s Policies and Procedures
- • Adherence and understanding of WHS requirements and legislation.

$ per hour (plus casual loading & other applicable allowances)

Kalano’s Adaptable Aged Care Facility – Katherine, NT.
Hours of work
Casual hours based on roaster (Monday – Friday | between 08:00am – 4:30pm)
The successful applicant should possess the following:
- Leadership ability to provide direction and support to team and work autonomously without ongoing direction
- Excellent time management, problem-solving and organisational skills
- Ability to take initiative and make sound decisions
- Adherence to Kalano’s Policies and Procedures
- Adherence and understanding of WHS requirements and legislation
- Valid NT Drivers Licence, Valid Ochre Card and willingness to undergo a National Police Check
