The Opportunity
Join Komatsu in a cutting-edge role as an AI Engineer
You will develop and maintain AI and ML models and applications using Databricks, AI/ML libraries and LLMs, collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance our AI systems.
Your work will focus on integrating solutions within Komatsu's Azure and Databricks environments, improving model accuracy and performance.
You will play a key role in advancing our AI capabilities, including large language models (LLMs) and agentic AI systems, contributing to both internal efficiency and customer-facing solutions.

What we are looking for
Proven experience with Databricks platform, including at least two years of hands-on work
Strong programming skills in Python, including proficiency with Pandas and PySpark libraries
Skilled in end-to-end ML predictive model development — from data preprocessing and feature engineering to model training, evaluation, and deployment using tools such as Python, scikit-learn, and Databricks
Minimum three to four years of experience working with Large Language Models (LLMs), including fine-tuning and RAG architecture
Ability to independently develop and deploy AI models using modern AI concepts and tools
Familiarity with containerized deployment environments and integration with Azure and Databricks platforms
Strong analytical skills with a focus on achieving high accuracy in AI outcomes
Effective communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams, including business units and data teams
Ability to adapt to rapidly evolving AI technologies and frameworks, contributing to architectural decisions in collaboration with the team
