Symons Clark Logistics is a 150-year-old, family owned, Port Adelaide based transport and logistics company. Our experience brings with it premium wharf cartage and container transport services, with a focus on providing customers with complete logistics solutions including warehousing, container pack/unpack, distribution, over-dimensional, heavy haulage, project logistics and Australia wide bulk haulage.
Reporting to the Workshop Manager, you will be primarily responsible for the repair and maintenance of heavy vehicle equipment within the business, as well as contributing to the broader workshop team. As a part of the workshop team, you will be required to teach and mentor staff, whilst also working closely with the Workshop Manager to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Adelaide-based positions are available with 7:7, 5:2, or regular afternoon shift options.
What you will be doing…
•Maintain all aspects of a vehicle to relevant transport legislation and heavy vehicle standards.
•Carry out scheduled preventative maintenance services.
•Respond to vehicle breakdown and roadside repairs.
•Action all driver defect reports as required.
•Perform fault diagnostics to detect mechanical and electrical faults.
•Test drive and/or operate equipment to ensure repair has been completed correctly.
•Ensure all equipment is safe to use and stored correctly.
•Mentor and train apprentices and less experienced team members as required.
Do you have…
•Trade Certificate as a Diesel Mechanic.
•C class driver’s licence essential (Truck HC desirable).
•Proven experience servicing and maintaining heavy vehicles.
•Auto electrical and/or hydraulic knowledge would be advantageous.
•Ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team.
•Good written and verbal communication.
•A strong commitment to safety.
•Knowledge of hydraulic systems desirable.
•Ability to work with limited supervision.
