A large government organisation responsible for managing a multi‑billion‑dollar asset portfolio is seeking an experienced ICT Project Manager to lead critical maintenance, stabilisation, and enhancement initiatives across its core digital platforms. The environment includes complex legacy technologies, high business criticality, and a strong focus on improving reliability while preparing for future modernisation.
Your new role
In this role, you will lead technical delivery across several interconnected systems, managing a diverse backlog of maintenance tasks, critical defect remediation, and small‑to‑medium enhancement projects.
Key responsibilities include:
* Delivering stabilisation, maintenance, and enhancement activities across multiple critical business systems.
* Managing technical debt, prioritising backlogs, and coordinating urgent defect resolution.
* Working closely with architecture, cybersecurity, enterprise technology, support teams, and regional operational stakeholders.
* Coordinating UAT, deployment schedules, and change windows to minimise operational disruption.
* Preparing and maintaining governance documentation aligned to internal IT standards and architecture review processes.
* Reporting progress to senior leadership and technology governance forums.
* Managing vendor relationships and ensuring integration alignment across platforms including SAP, DataLake/Azure, Portt, TIBCO, and PowerBI.
What you'll need to succeed
* 5+ years' experience delivering ICT projects in complex technical environments, ideally within government or education.
* Strong background working with legacy systems, upgrades, stabilisation efforts, and end‑of‑life technologies.
* Solid understanding of integration architectures and database-centric applications.
* Proven ability to manage competing priorities, operational incidents, and technical backlog items.
* Excellent stakeholder management across technical and non‑technical teams.
* Experience coordinating across multiple platforms (SAP, TIBCO, DataLake/EduLake, PowerBI).
* Familiarity with public‑sector governance frameworks, architecture review processes, and cyber requirements.
* Highly desirable: experience with asset management or facilities management systems.
