We are looking for a registered Building Surveyor who wants more than just processing applications, you want to influence outcomes, support customers, and be part of a team that's improving how development happens across our city.
You will work across a diverse portfolio of applications, guiding customers through the certification process with clarity and confidence. This is a hands‐on role where your technical expertise, judgement and communication skills will directly impact development outcomes.
What you'll be doing
* Assessing and determining development applications, construction certificates and complying development certificates
* Acting as Registered Certifier and Principal Certifier in accordance with legislation
* Providing clear, practical technical advice to internal and external stakeholders
* Working proactively with applicants and stakeholders to achieve positive, timely outcomes
* Managing compliance and regulatory matters with professionalism and sound judgement
Qualifications and Experience
You're a qualified and registered Building Surveyor who combines technical expertise with a strong customer mindset.
* Degree or Graduate Diploma in Building (or similar), with experience in development assessment and certification
* Registration with NSW Fair Trading as a Building Surveyor (restricted – Class 1 and 10)
* Strong knowledge of relevant legislation and the ability to apply it pragmatically
* Proven ability to manage competing priorities and high-volume workflows
* Confidence engaging, influencing and negotiating with a wide range of stakeholders
* A genuine commitment to delivering a positive customer experience
