Remuneration: 76364 - 108943 full time equivalent base salary range (+12% super + 17.5% leave loading and salary packaging)
Hours Per Week: 38
Location: Randwick

What You Will Be Doing

The primary focus of this position is to provide a comprehensive social work service to children, young people and their families referred from the relevant clinical area. This includes the provision of psychosocial assessments, counselling and advocacy. Services will encompass individual, family and group work and program development. The social worker is an integral part of the multi‐disciplinary team.

This is an Identified Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander position. Applicants must be of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent, identify as an Aboriginal person and/or Torres Strait Islander, and be accepted in the community as such. The position is exempted under Section 14(d) of the Anti‐Discrimination Act 1977 (NSW).

Qualifications

* Bachelor of Social Work (or a Qualifying Master of Social Work) and eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW).
* Evidence of qualification and description of experience gained in the field.
* Experience working with Aboriginal children and families.

Legal and Workplace Requirements

* Permanent NSW Health roles require Australian citizenship or permanent residency. Temporary visa holders may be considered where no suitable Australian citizen or permanent resident is identified.
* NSW Health vaccination and screening requirements must be met prior to commencement.
* Working with Children Check (WWCC) issued by the Office of the Children's Guardian is required.
* Overseas qualifications must be formally assessed by the Department of Education or relevant authority for recognition in Australia.
