The Role
We are looking for an experienced Head of Frontend Engineering to lead our frontend function across product and website delivery.
This role combines people leadership, technical direction, frontend operational oversight and delivery support. You will work closely with developers, team leads and stakeholders across the business to improve engineering quality, support delivery, strengthen frontend systems and help guide the team through a fast‐evolving AI‐assisted development landscape.
This is a hands‐on leadership role suited to someone who is comfortable balancing leadership, technical decision‐making, platform stewardship and process improvement in a fast‐moving environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead, mentor and support frontend developers and team leads across multiple workstreams
* Provide technical guidance on frontend architecture, implementation patterns and engineering standards
* Help drive quality, consistency, maintainability and attention to detail across frontend codebases and delivered work
* Support teams with prioritisation, delivery coordination and resolving technical blockers
* Work closely with product, backend, support and leadership stakeholders across the business
* Oversee key frontend infrastructure and platform tooling, including areas such as Vercel, Cloudinary and related operational concerns
* Help monitor and improve the health, reliability and scalability of the frontend delivery environment
* Contribute to continuous improvement across tooling, workflows, processes and engineering practices
* Help the frontend team adopt and improve AI‐assisted workflows in a practical, high‐value way
* Balance short‐term delivery needs with longer‐term engineering, platform and process improvements
* Support hiring, performance development and capability growth within the frontend team
About the Environment
Our frontend environment includes a large multi‐tenant Next.js website platform, internal product applications, and a broad range of client, OEM and platform requirements. The role requires someone who can operate pragmatically in a real‐world codebase, support engineers with varying levels of experience, and improve systems over time while continuing to deliver.
What We're Looking For
* Strong frontend engineering background, ideally with experience in React and Next.js
* Previous experience leading or mentoring frontend engineers
* Strong attention to detail and a high standard for frontend quality and presentation
* Ability to provide clear technical direction in a practical, delivery‐focused environment
* Strong communication skills and confidence working with both technical and non‐technical stakeholders
* Experience balancing leadership responsibilities with technical oversight and operational awareness
* Good judgement around trade‐offs, prioritisation, engineering quality and platform stability
* Comfortable working in a fast‐moving environment with evolving priorities
* Interest in modern AI tooling and the ability to help teams use AI workflows effectively and responsibly
Nice to Have
* Experience with multi‐tenant platforms or high‐scale website delivery environments
* Exposure to frontend infrastructure, deployment tooling and third‐party platform management
* Experience with Vercel, Cloudinary, CI/CD workflows or similar frontend platform tooling
* Experience improving legacy systems incrementally in a commercially driven environment
* Familiarity with AI‐assisted development workflows and engineering productivity tooling
