About the role:
Within our friendly and inclusive Allied Health team, the Allied Health Assistant will support the delivery of client-specific therapy programs and develop resources for clients and families, under the guidance of Speech Pathologists and other specialist Allied Health professionals.
The role operates within a flexible, transdisciplinary model, working collaboratively with Therapy and Family Services staff to ensure the needs of our clients and their families are effectively supported.
Based in our Townsville office, your primary focus will be to promote smooth and coordinated service delivery for clients and programs through strong organisational and administrative support.
As a valued member of the team, the Allied Health Assistant may work across a range of environments, including the Deaf Connect offices, clinics, telepractice, playgroups, family homes, and community settings such as childcare centres, kindergartens, and schools.
Main responsibilities of the role include:
1. Interact with the families and clients in a manner that considers the needs of the client first and follows the treatment plan outlined by the client's allied health professional supervisor
2. Prepare therapy resources under the supervision of an allied health professional.
3. Communicate effectively with allied health professionals and other stakeholders involved in the client's support services. Report back to the supervising allied health professional on the client's progress towards goals in their treatment plan.
4. Complete treatment notes outlining clients' progress towards goals and additional observations made by the AHA.
5. Attend Deaf Connect events and playgroups to provide support under the supervision of an allied health professional.

8. NDIS Worker Orientation Module Certificate
9. Current driver's license
