The Role
Mount Isa Mines is currently seeking a motivated and qualified Trainer Assessor who will report to the Superintendent – Training, Mining. The successful candidate will provide a high level of training support to operations, based primarily at Rebuild Workshop and George Fisher Mine. You will have the desire to improve training, implement innovative tools and ideas and become an integral part of the wider team. The position is residentially based and offers a Monday‐to‐Friday roster, with the option of a lifestyle roster of 5/2/4/3.
In this role you will be responsible for:
* Deliver high‐quality training and assessment programs, including site inductions and task‐specific competencies, aligned to operational and safety requirements.
* Partner with the Training Advisor to proactively identify workforce capability gaps and plan priority training activities.
* Collaborate with frontline supervisors to achieve training targets while minimising operational disruption.
* Contribute to the review, development, and continuous improvement of training packages and materials.
* Provide coaching and mentorship to Crew Trainers to strengthen capability, consistency, and compliance in training and assessment practices.
About you
* Qualification in Training and Assessment (or willingness to obtain – with relevant operational experience).
* Australian Manual Drivers Licence.
* Proven industry experience in mining.
* Committed to safety and a strong communicator to build robust partnerships in the operations.
* Sound knowledge of Microsoft Office such as Outlook, Word and Excel.
