About the role
Avalon Airport Australia is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Freight Operations Clerk to join our dynamic team. Reporting to the Freight Supervisor, this administrative role is essential in supporting the smooth and efficient processing of import and export cargo flight operations. You will be part of a fast-paced environment, working closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate freight handling and documentation.
Freight Operations Clerk
The position will commence as a day-shift role, with the expectation of transitioning to a 24/7 shift work roster.
What you will do
* Process import and export cargo flight operations.
* Report cargo movements directly to Customs.
* Prepare unit weight statements and dangerous goods notifications for flight crew.
* Coordinate aircraft ramp activities, including crew transport, document running, and acting as the point of contact during freighter operations.
* Assist with the preparation of procedures, documentation, and filing outside of operational hours.
What you will bring to the role
* Experience in import and export flight operations.
* Sound knowledge of flight operations, administrative functions, and SITA text messaging.
* Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
* Strong organisational skills and the ability to multitask.
* Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to meet strict deadlines.
* High attention to detail and accuracy.
* Strong computer and numerical data skills.
* Excellent verbal and written communication.
* Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
* Note: A Bachelor in Aviation is desirable
