The Position
This position takes the lead in building essential water and wastewater mains, along with their supporting infrastructure—work that keeps the community flowing smoothly. You’ll also be responsible for both preventative and corrective maintenance across our water and wastewater networks, ensuring reliability and performance. Plus, you’ll put your skills to use through general plumbing tasks, making every day varied, hands-on, and impactful.
Tasks and responsibilities
- Construct and repair watermains, sewer mains, recent water services, and house drains
- Water meter maintenance and replacement
- Manhole, pump station maintenance & construction
- To work in confined spaces as directed
- Complete relevant paperwork required for the Networks section
Qualifications and experience
- TAFE Certificate in Sewer/Water Construction or Plumbing/Draining and/or extensive relevant experience
- Class C (Standard) Driver's Licence (compulsory to have and maintain)
- Construction Induction Card
- Relevant experience in civil related water and sewer construction and repair
Hours
Based on a 38 hour week, with actual days and times being Monday to Friday, 7.00am to 4.00pm, with an RDO in accordance with AlburyCity's RDO guidelines. These times may vary due to operational requirements and will be determined by the supervisor.
