The role:
We are looking for experienced and passionate staff members to provide support to Children and Young People involved within the Out-of-Home-Care Sector. The role will involve supporting a young person in an intensive therapeutic care setting. Staff will be required to utilise and implement therapeutic, trauma-informed practices to ensure positive outcomes for all Children and Young People receiving services.
We are looking for qualified people who are adaptable, flexible, experienced and dedicated to creating systemic change in the lives of the Children and Young People we support.
Staff will be required to work across a 24/7 roster inclusive of morning, afternoon and active-night shifts. Staff will be required to work a minimum of 24 hours per week.
The successful applicant will receive a comprehensive onboarding, induction, training and Work Health and Safety briefings prior to commencing in the role.
This role in particular is supporting one young woman who requires intensive therapeutic support from Capability. This Young Person can demonstrate complex behaviours and you must be proficient in following safety, risk and compliance plans.

The responsibilities:
* Support this Child in a therapeutic, trauma-informed approach.
* High-level completion of shift documentation including written notes and record keeping.
* Compliance with Legislation and any direction from Children, Youth and Families or Capability Support.
* Engagement with Supervision, Training & Development.
* Supporting Children and Young People through crisis situations and trauma-related behaviours.
* Implementing client specific protocol to ensure high quality supports.
* Supporting Children and Young People with daily care tasks and household tasks.
* Mentoring and role-modeling pro-social behaviour to Children and Young People.
* Demonstrate and model high ethics and standards, following all Capability policies, procedures and values.
The requirements:
* Qualification in Community Services, Psychology, Social Work or Youth/Disability is desirable, but not required.
* Prior experience supporting clients from backgrounds of trauma or complex behaviours.
* Prior experience working within the Therapeutic Crisis Intervention System would be beneficial.
* Any prior experience working in a Youth Justice or a Justice framework would be beneficial.
* High-level problem-solving skills with the ability to think and respond quickly and appropriately to situations.
* Excellent literacy and writing skills
* Working with Vulnerable People Card (Or ability to obtain one)
* Working with Children's Check NSW (Or ability to obtain one)
* CYPS Suitability Clearance (or ability to obtain one)
* Valid police check (or willingness to undertake one)
* Valid Australian Drivers License
* Appropriate Working Rights in Australia
* Current First Aid & CPR Qualifications (or ability to obtain)
* Reliable, Comprehensively Insured Motor Vehicle (Compulsory)
