About the role
This is a senior technical leadership position responsible for driving process safety performance across Region South Pacific. You will lead critical risk assessment activities, ensure compliance with Major Hazard Facility and Dangerous Goods regulations, and support the development and implementation of process safety management systems. Working closely with operations teams, senior leadership, and regulators, you will play a key role in embedding a culture of safety and continuous improvement throughout the organisation.
Other key responsibilitieswill include:
* Lead Process Hazard Analyses and Safety Assessments (e.g. HAZOP, What-If, FMEA, LOPA)
* Develop and implement safety management systems
* Prepare and maintain Safety Cases and key compliance documentation
* Lead licensing and relicensing activities for facilities
* Support site audits and regulatory inspections
* Monitor process safety performance and report to senior leadership
* Ensure compliance with WHS regulations across jurisdictions
* Provide expert guidance across Region South Pacific and drive continuous improvement in process safety performance
Required key skills (professional/technical)
* Tertiary qualification in Engineering (Chemical preferred)
* 5+ years' experience in process safety within regulated industries (AU/NZ)
* Deep knowledge of MHF & Dangerous Goods regulations (AU/NZ)
* Proven experience with leading HAZOP, LOPA, and risk studies
* Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement & negotiation skills
* Strong time management, autonomy, and leadership in safety
