Overview

Manager Housing Reporting

Location: This role is based in Parramatta and offers hybrid working arrangements in line with departmental policy, with approximately 50% onsite days.

Employment type: Ongoing full-time role

Salary: $149,739.00 pa - $173,174.00 pa, plus employer's contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading

What you'll do

This role provides you with an opportunity to use your experience and skills to develop evidence and drive its use in improving outcomes in the Department of Communities and Justice (DCJ).

The Department supports vulnerable children, families and communities across areas including child protection, out‐of‐home care, social housing, homelessness and domestic and family violence. You will work closely with policy, program and operations to understand their needs and support their work.

Key responsibilities

* Lead a team responsible for reporting on social housing data on behalf of Homes NSW and the DCJ.
* Produce regular weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports for internal and external use.
* Serve as the source of truth for requests for data intended for public release.
* Support urgent data requests and analysis to respond to questions from Media, the NSW parliament, the Minister and Homes NSW and DCJ senior executives.
* Produce one-off data and analysis to respond to emerging operational issues, support planning and commissioning initiatives, and assist research and evaluation activities.
* Drive continuous improvement of data services by identifying issues in housing data and related systems and support that impact timely service delivery.

This role sits in the Family and Community Services Insights, Analysis and Research (FACSIAR) Directorate, a centre of excellence in human services analysis and research within DCJ. FACSIAR conducts and supports analysis, research and evaluation across DCJ and collaborates with other government and non‐government entities on projects, data linkage and evaluation activities.

What we're looking for

Essential requirement

Tertiary qualifications in a related discipline and/or equivalent knowledge, skills and experience, with demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development.

Additional requirements

* Extensive knowledge and experience in extracting, analysing and reporting on human services data, especially data on social housing.
* Experience in leading and managing a team in a high-pressure, time-constrained environment where timely, responsive and accurate data and analysis are paramount.
* High-level project management skills with the ability to manage conflicting commitments and priorities, exercise clear judgment under pressure and deliver outcomes within budget and resource allocation.
* High-level communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively across a range of stakeholders including other DCJ Divisions, State and Commonwealth agencies, academics/researchers and other organisations.
* Experience in managing, mentoring and developing people.
